The workshops to be conducted on 20&21 March 2017, will be led by Expertise France and BPI France and will involve participant from different local Libyan banks with the presence of the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and Libya Enterprise. In addition, international bodies will attend the workshops, including, the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
The workshops will concentrate on the existing mechanisms and instruments for financing SMEs along with the needs and requirements of the Libyan market. Additionally, the workshops will concentrate on techniques for improving and developing banks offers to SMEs and increase long term lending. The workshops will also tackle issues, such as, the obstacles preventing the use of the existing instruments, potential for acceleration, and positioning of a national guarantee fund towards the other financing tools.
