In September 2017, Dr Nasir Fadallah, Libyan Minister of Economy, led a high level delegation to visit the French-Libyan Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He also had the opportunity to meet with the French State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lemoine.
The whole visit was organized and accompanied by the team of SLEIDSE, a project financed by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France aiming to develop SMEs in Libya.

The Libyan delegation led by the Libyan Minister of Economy, and accompanied by Mr Sebastien Mosneron Dupin, Director General of Expertise France, hold a very positive meeting with French State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Mr Jean-Baptiste Lemoine. They agreed on the excellent working relations between both governments on technical assistance issues, in particular on the improvement of economic environment.
A discussion on SMEs support with the General Directorate for Enterprises
The delegation participated in a meeting between a high level delegation from the Libyan GNA and the Direction Générale des Enterprises from the French ministry of Economy and Finance, where they discussed the methods being used by the French government to support SMEs and help French companies access international markets.
In addition, the participants discussed the possible cooperation between the two government to develop the national management of enterprises and Libya Enterprise to support and empower private sector in Libya.
The Delegation’s dialogue with top French companies
A meeting was held with the French top companies working in Libya to empower the private sector and support the diverse economy in Libya.
As such, the members of the Libyan-French Chamber of Commerce expressed their willingness to hold and sustain a living Libyan-French economic dialogue, to contribute to develop the Libyan-French economic relationships, and to support the small and medium enterprises, which significantly contribute to the cooperation between major Libyan and French companies.
